高中課本實境App 科學概念變立體

高中課本的DNA、奈米碳管等，不少學生常難以理解，國立臺灣師範大學與萬芳高中歷時5年研發「擴增實境」科技，讓平面教材立體化，學生只要透過手機、平板掃描課本，生物DNA、化學結構、地理等高線圖等，就會變成3D影像呈現，除了幫助學生理解概念，還能加入資訊，增加互動，大幅拉近學生與教科書距離，讓學生樂在科普學習，這學期已經與教科書出版業者合作，內容涵蓋高一到高三生物、化學、物理、地理等科目，學生只要用手機下載App，再掃描課本中難懂的專有名詞，課本文字瞬間變成3D影像。

Owner Donald Sterling to Sell Los Angeles Clippers? 

The former chief of Microsoft Corp., Steve Ballmer, agreed to purchase the National Basketball Association’s Los Angeles Clippers for $2 billion. Ballmer retired as Microsoft’s CEO in February and still owned about four percent of the software company, Reuters reported. The deal was announced by Ballmer and Shelly Sterling, the wife of owner Donald Sterling. The NBA’s Board of Governors would approve the sale, and the deal would be record-breaking.

Donald Sterling had agreed to ink the deal and drop the suit but it is said that he later changed his mind not to sign the papers after learning the NBA would not revoke its lifetime ban and fine.

Donald Sterling said he must fight to protect his rights as he believed that his rights to privacy and the preservation of his rights to due process should not be trampled. Donald Sterling said he was extremely sorry for the hurtful statements he made privately but said them out of anger and jealousy and didn’t intend for them to be public. He loved the team and had dedicated thirty-three years of his life to the organization. He intended to fight to keep the team.

洛杉磯快艇老闆唐納德‧史特林有意出售球隊？

微軟股份有限公司前執行長史帝夫‧巴爾默日前同意以二十億美元買下美國職籃NBA的隊伍：洛杉磯快艇隊。巴爾默於今年二月以微軟執行長的身分退休，不過據路透社報導，他仍持有該公司約百分之四的股份。這項交易由巴爾默及快艇隊老闆唐納德‧史特林的妻子雪莉‧史特林共同宣布。NBA理事會將會核准這項買賣，而其售價則會創下歷史新高。

唐納德‧史特林原已同意簽署合約賣出球隊並且放棄上訴，但有消息指出，史特林在得知NBA不會廢除對他終生禁賽和罰款的判決後，決定不簽署買賣合約。

唐納德‧史特林表示他一定會盡力保護他的權益，因為他堅信個人的隱私權和權益維護的正當途徑不容忽視。史特林對自己私下的言論感到非常抱歉，他因憤怒和忌妒出口傷人，且原本無意公開這種發言。史特林不僅熱愛快艇隊，也投入了三十三年的心力在球隊上。他打算爭取保住快艇隊。

Obama Honors D-Day Veterans on 70th Anniversary

U.S. President Barack Obama paid tribute to World War II veterans at a ceremony marking the 70th anniversary of the *D-Day invasion. The cemetery where the ceremony was held was near the beaches where more than 160,000 Allied troops launched the massive assault on a shoreline heavily fortified by German forces. Though about 4,500 died that day, Allied forces ultimately defeated the Nazis throughout Europe. The leaders of eighteen countries and thousands of veterans took part in the ceremony.

In his speech, Obama told the stories of Americans who fought their way into Normandy on June 6, 1944 and he praised the veterans who took part in D-Day for changing the course of human history. In addition to those who fought in Normandy, Obama praised the massive machinery that bolstered the D-Day invasion–some 5,000 ships and landing craft, about 11,000 planes and 30,000 vehicles, the largest armada in history.

For some time after 1944, D-Day had not had the resonance it has had in recent decades, partly because many veterans were reluctant to talk about their brutal experiences. Obama said, “Whenever the world makes you cynical, stop and think of these men.” D-Day has become a moment of national consecration. Soon, the last veterans of D-Day and World War II will be gone, but their spirit can live on.

歐巴馬於諾曼地登陸七十週年向老兵致敬
